To use Collaborative Coach, you will need a camera and microphone to record videos. You will also need to set up your computer and Chrome browser to give the platform access to your camera and microphone. Ensure you have set up permissions as described below.

Ensure that your computer’s microphone and camera have access to the Chrome browser.
MacOS
- Go to your System Preferences from your Apple menu
- Select Security and Privacy
- Select Camera from the left side.
- Ensure that Chrome is checked.
- Select Microphone from the left side.
- Ensure Chrome is checked.

iPad OS
- Go to Settings.
- Select Privacy.
- Select Camera
- Ensure that Chrome is enabled.

Windows OS
- Select Settings from the Start menu
- Select Privacy
- Select Camera
- In Allow access to camera on this device, select Change.
- Make sure Camera access for this device is turned on.
- In Allow apps to access your camera, make sure it’s turned on.
- Then, make sure Chrome is enabled by going to Choose which Microsoft app can access your camera.
- Ensure Chrome is turned on.
- Repeat steps 4-8 for Microphone.
Android OS
- Select Settings
- Select Privacy
- Select Permissions Manager
- Select Camera
- Find Chrome and select.
- Ensure it is allowed.
- Repeat steps 4-6 for Microphone.
Configure your browser to allow camera and microphone access
In the Chrome browser, you will need to allow the Collaborative Coach platform to have access to your camera and microphone. Login into the Collaborative Coach app from the Learning Portal first. Then check the settings below.
- Open your Chrome browser.
- Go to the 3 dots in the upper right corner.
- Select Settings
- Select Privacy and Security
- Select Site Settings
- Select Camera
- Ensure that Sites can ask to use your camera is selected.
- Look for: collabcoach.org
- Click the arrow on the right.
- Sure that Camera and Microphone are NOT set to block. Ask or Allow will both work.
Unblock camera and microphone access
If you have accidentally blocked the camera and microphone, which may happen if you accidentally blocked the site, you will want to unblock it.
- Open your Chrome browser.
- Go to the 3 dots in the upper right corner.
- Select Settings
- Select Privacy and Security
- Select Site Settings.
- Look for sites that may be listed under Not allowed to use your camera.
- If Collaborative Coach is listed, click the trash can on the right next to the name to remove it from the blocked list.
Tip: If you make changes to your browser settings, you may need to close your browser completely, logout of Collaborative Coach, and re-open it.
